Hi there! My name is Kyle Undem. I was born in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, grew up in Minnesota (the northern/center of the United States), and also spent some time living in Alberta, Canada, Yamaguchi, Japan, and Hawaii.
I taught with the JET Programme at junior high schools in Kudamatsu City, Yamaguchi for two years, and spent the last year teaching pre-school and elementary aged students while studying Japanese at Communica Institute in Kobe.
I love teaching English and studying Japanese. I also enjoy playing guitar, running, photography, and golf.
I really look forward to teaching at Little Sprouts and am excited to see all the friendly faces that come through the doors each day!
Hello! My name is Robb Winters. I am originally from San Francisco, California, but have been living and teaching in Akashi for the past eight years.
I studied History at California Polytechnic State University and received my multiple-subject teaching credential from San Francisco State University.
In California, I was a licensed elementary school teacher and worked with children in the special-education classes. I also led an after school program at my school helping English-as- a-second- language (ESL) students whose parents did not speak English at home. In addition to teaching at a children’s conversation school, here, in Japan, I spent two years as a volunteer in Africa, teaching English in Mozambique.
I am excited to meet you all and help you to enjoy studying English with us at Little Sprouts!.
Hello! I’m Mairi Holtzner. I’m from Seattle, Washington, USA. I moved to Japan in 2012, and worked as a JET program ALT for 5 years at a junior high school and several elementary schools in Higashinada, Kobe.
Seeing a child’s happy face is my favorite part of the workday. I enjoy teaching English and American culture to all ages. I want to do my best to support students to be open minded, creative individuals with good critical thinking skills.
I’ve studied Japanese since 2008 and I hope to one day reach native level. I’m interested in Japanese world heritage sites, such as temples and shrines. I want to visit Jomon Sugi one day. I’m also interested in Japanese pop culture. I like manga, gothic and lolita fashion, and retro gaming.
